Goalie Camp and Goalie Training Announcement

Goalie Army Academy is proud of our newest goalie camp and goalie training announcement:  We will be bringing our goalie school to the WEHL again this season to provide goaltender conditioning, evaluations, and goalie training to the association’s registrants.

We have taken the comments from parents and participants into consideration from the goalie training sessions from last year, and your feedback has allowed for the planning of future goalie training sessions.  Therefore, we have adjusted and designed a new format for the sessions as well as added a few options for goalie training so that we continue to strive to exceed your expectations.

New This Season

New this season, WEHL registrants, parents, and coaches will be provided with accessible goaltender training instructional video segments.  We will provide these video segments free of charge in order to further goaltender training and development while practicing with their teams.  Videos will be made available via our newsletter and website at the beginning of the 2014-15 winter hockey season, so please make sure to sign up for our newsletter and bookmark us in order to ensure that you take advantage of this free, but valuable service.

Additional On-Ice Training Available

In addition to the video segments, Goalie Army Academy is offering additional goalie training sessions to students who wish to obtain additional training and ice time to work toward achieving their goals in hockey.  Sessions will be held at the Minto Skating Centre, & will take place at 8:15 pm biweekly on Sunday evenings from October to February.  Each clinic-style session is limited to 6 goaltenders on the ice at a time and will cover all areas related to the situations which students will be faced with during games.  We will also be holding some sessions which will be dedicated to Goaltender-Specific Power Skating in order to aid our students to become better skaters in their crease, and therefore more efficient.

Special Rate Offer

Goalie Army Academy is currently offering an Early Bird Registration rate of $50 per training session with the purchase of the complete 10-session package.  This package will include 7 goalie training sessions where shooters will be available to provide game situation exercises.  In addition to the 7 clinic-style sessions, there will be 3 Goaltender-Specific Power Skating sessions where emphasis will be placed on the proper execution of skating, butterfly drops, butterfly slides, and recoveries.  Participants who register for the full 10-session program will reserve their spot into the program, however because they are taking advantage of the Early Bird Registration rate, they will be unable to obtain refunds or carry over missed sessions to future goalie training programs.

We understand that registering for all 10 sessions may not be possible due to other family commitments as well as tournaments throughout the upcoming winter season.  Therefore we are offering some additional goalie training options in order for more goalies to train with us.
